NRL Round 8 Sweepstake Game

To help you on get into the game we’ve pulled together all the upcoming NRL games along with tips and the jargon as to what you can expect when playing Swopstakes.

Kicking off...

The Rabbitohs have had a brilliant start to the season and currently sit third on the ladder, with the Broncos visiting the ANZ Stadium in game 1 of the round on Thursday night, the home side will be firm favourites to defeat the away team who sit in 10th place.

Double header

The first of Friday’s double header has the Cowboys taking on the Titans at the 1300SMILES Stadium. In a game in which 15th placed North Queensland will be seeing as one which they must win against their opponents from the Gold Coast who are 13th on the ladder, it could be a tense battle made even more exciting depending on what outcome your swopstakes ticket has you cheering on.

Second up on Friday night the action comes from the PointsBet Stadium where the Sharks are at home to Melbourne Storm in what could be a tricky game for the visitors from Victoria. Cronulla is currently sitting in 9th place and have shown moments of form this season and will know that a win over their 2nd placed rivals will make a strong statement that they are targeting a top 8 spot this season.

Check your tickets

Before the first game of the weekend is now the time for you to check your tickets and decide as to whether you need to buy more or perhaps you have slipped down the leaderboard so this is your chance to swap your tickets and throw caution to the wind before the Raiders take on the Panthers at McDonalds Park at 3pm.

The Raiders have had a strong start to the season and find themselves in 4th place on the ladder whilst their opponents from Penrith haven’t found their mojo yet and are presently in 14th position. What tickets do you hold ahead of this game? Is it worth holding out and seeing what the cash out value of your tickets could be at the halfway point of this round?

Saturday’s second match sees the resurgent Sea Eagles taking on 16th placed Bulldogs at Lottoland in a match which the home side will be confident of winning and hoping to put a few points on the board. Currently sitting in 6th position on the ladder Manly’s season has started impressively given they finished second bottom last year.

5 rounds in...

With 5 matches of the round completed and with only 3 to play where is the winning ticket? Have you or one of your mates made it up the leaderboard to be in contention to claim the winning cash prize or one of the free credit awards?
Game 6 of the round is the Saturday night match and it comes from the SCG where last year’s premiers and 1st placed Sydney Roosters takes on the West Tigers who currently occupy 7th spot. Whist most followers will be expecting a Roosters win keep what will your ticket have you supporting? Can the West Tigers make a game of it to show that they will be go one better than last season and finish in the top 8?

Sunday...big decisions!

It is Sunday morning, hopefully you are still in with a chance and have tickets still alive in the sweepstake.  Do you hold out, or decide that the offer to cash out is too good not to take? With the first of the day’s two games kicking off at 2pm you have plenty of time to decide and figure out what your best strategy is before the Warriors plays the Knights at Mt Smart Stadium.

Having made the top 8 last season the Warriors could do with a win to push themselves up the ladder from their current position of 12th. This is very much the game that their fans are expecting to see them put in a strong performance to give them confidence that the finals are a decent prospect. The visitors from Newcastle are presently in 11th spot and whilst not favourites to win today’s game keep an eye out for what type of tickets might be on offer to buy, don’t forget that at a handicap of say +13 means that if the Knights lose by 2 converted tries your ticket is still a winner!

We now head to the brand new Bankwest Stadium where the 5th placed Eels made a strong statement that they will turn on the style having smashed the West Tigers 51-6 in their opening game at the ground. Home fans will be hoping to see a similar sort of performance again today. Don’t write off the Dragons though as whilst they are in 8th spot presently, before their recent defeat by the Roosters they had been on a winning 4 match streak and are sure to be keen to bounce back again today. This final match of the round has the makings of being a high scoring affair but what do you think? What ticket do you hold? Will you see things through to become a winner here at Swopstakes?
