AFL Grand Final
The “COVID” season 2020 all comes down to a Grand Final away from the MCG for the first time ever and will be held at the GABBA as a night final (another first). The Cats have worked hard to make the “final dance” with good finals wins over the Pies and Lions after their first game defeat by Port Adelaide. They look strong and committed to achieving a farewell premiership for Garry Ablett, and perhaps a first for Paddy Dangerfield who craves for that team achievement over any personal accolades he may have received.
The Tigers are an amazing finals team who know that sentiment doesn’t win you premierships, and their ability to run off from the stoppages and be tough at the ball all day places them well to win their third in the past four years. Can Dusty do it again and win the Norm Smith, or will it be a key forward with a bag of goals that takes out the best on ground award. We are in for one hell of a game!
Geelong V Richmond - Grand Final
What a contest of the mid fields we have here in this game with the likes of Cotchin, Martin &Prestia up against Selwood, Guthrie & Dangerfield contesting hard for the spoils of their rucks. Can Hawkins get over his sore throat to come out and kick a bag full or will it be Reiwoldt or Lynch at the other kicking plenty?
These are all the usual commentary but it will be who has the toughest and tightest defence who, by running off from half back, can set up the game for their respective teams. Houli is the go to man for the Tigers and he has been building for a couple of weeks now to repeat his performance in last year’s Grand Final and the Cats have the coolness to hold and switch until they have clearance options to move out of the back half. Crumbing forwards for both sides will be very important with two great defences bringing the ball to the ground, & this may be the area where the game is won or lost.
